Pollution Prevention
Pollution Prevention is important to protect the health and safety of you, your co-workers, your community, and the environment.
There are several ways that Louisville Packaging has helped protect and control polluting the environment, including but not limited to:
- Recycling of all types of batteries
- Recycling of fluorescent light bulbs through an approved vendor
- Recycling non-hazardous materials such as brass, plastic wrap, cardboard, paper, metal, and other non-hazardous materials
- Reducing our waste streams
These are just a few examples, but as mentioned above the pertinent KPI’s and ways to track our progress will be established based on the needs of the business.
We participate on the Green Energy Program of our local Electric and Gas provider and as on 10/20/2025 we received the following letter from LG&E:
Given your purchase of 10 block(s) of Green Energy per month for a year:
- You will purchase approximately 13240 kWh of Green Energy per month.
- An estimated 15,1440 pounds of carbon dioxide pollution will be prevented per year.
- Carbon sequestered by 1140 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.
